Tip of the month - Keyboard pausing

| Category:

Welcome to the MyTobii Community’s first ever \*drumrolls*\ Tip of the month!

This blog will attempt to give MyTobii users, Professionals, Family and Friends small tips that can help improve daily life.
The main focus will be on the MyTobii Applications. But other areas will be covered as well.

This first tip is about an alternative way toggle pause. Rather than using the Pause button on the System menu, you can actually press the Pause/Break key on your keyboard to perform the same feat. This can be really nice when e.g trying out MyTobii on new users.

One could think that this tip is basically useless for most MyTobii users, however there are several ways this could be put to use even if you are not able to use a keyboard.
For example in great applications such as VS Communicator, it is possible to make a button on a grid send that keyboard stroke. So your favorite grid could be designed to have a button to pause the eye-control in MyTobii. Nice huh?
Unfortunately there is currently no way of using the same button to unpause, at least not yet, but we will be working on that for future releases. You could however map some kind of hardware switch to send the same keystroke and use that to toggle the eye-control pause in MyTobii.

Note you will need MyTobii 2.3 or higher for this to work.

This ends the MyTobii Community’s first ever Tip of the month. Next tip will be about MyTobii’s offscreen menus. Stay tuned!
