mediaplayer

Hi,
Iam using MyTobii as a mediaplayer now.
It works with an USB-soundcard and normal headphones. I use a large surface of Winamp. It works very well!
ciao, Kathrin

hey kathryn, the winamp idea on the tobii sounds awesome. i do know the integrated media player lacks a lot of features. i used to use winamp when i used to have windows, i did like that the buttons were large and easy to hit with my mouse. i now use itunes which i love because of the coverflow view along with the three huge play previous track and forward track buttons. my fine motor is not that great but i do well with my touch pad provided i dont have to hit tiny things quickly with it. though i am looking into a tobii as my next step since i know my arm control is slowly diminishing with this danged disease.

*tight hugs to chris and kathryn*

*extra tight one for kathryn*

good luck in your travel, i am sure you will be safe, i am counting on hearing from you about it!

chris147:

don`t mix up the tobii`s built-in media player and the media player in Windows. by the way, media player can do everything you need in general.

Erin Beneteau:

Hi guys,

VS Communicator's Media Player is fully customizable and there are three pre-made page sets that come with the program.

The MyTobii P10's Media Player also has a video player function, although you have to load the movie onto the P10 and it has to be stored in a specific file for the MyTobii Media Player to access it. I've done it with some free movie trailers you can get from the Microsoft website.

If any of you have interfaced an iPod with the P10, please let me know. I get lots of requests for that but haven't had a chance to try it myself and I'm not sure if it can be done.

Kind regards,
Erin

The Gird 2`s Media Player is so fully customizable, that I had to create my own grid set for it. Good thing about this is that it looks as I want it to look.

Talking about mediaplayers, I find it difficult to scroll down to the bottom of long playlists.

The tobii`s Media Player can only access those media files which are stored in the MyDocuments\MyTobii music or pictures folder.

How do you want to access an iPod? Via the tobii`s Media Player, or in any other ways?

Uli Ehlert:

As big targets for the controls are helpful, it is great that both Windows media player and Winamp use skins to change the GUI. I personally also use Realplayer as it can download and replay Flash videos as the ones on YouTube, yet I don't know if there are different skins available.

Questions to the community: what skins are you using? Let's try to find some good ones that we can post as tips for others.

Kathrin: what is the make of the USB soundcard you are using? Guess it would be good to know for others as well.
BTW, I appreciate you being fully arrived at the community. Time to mix up the boy's talk here a bit ;-)

Cheers,
Uli
