Vmax eyemax

hello! i am thinking of getting another communication device because i feel mytobii is not good enough for me, i need more speed and also it does not support morse code but i had been using it for years and i want it back. anyone know about Vmax eyemax? i want to try it out before i buy it! Dear Ásdís,
in your post I see two different things that could be enhanced.

1. Speed could mean many things. Are you referring to communication speed? That is linked to how you set up your communication pages, word and phrase prediction and stuff. That might be re-arranged. If you are referrig to speed when browsing the internet you may want to check you internet connection and compare the speed on different websites or between your P10 and a regular computer. To further dig into this problem I suggest you contact our support or tell me and I will be happy to forward your contact information.

2. Morse code! Hmmm, that sounds interesting. Please tell me how you have used Morse code before and how you would like to use it in your MyTobii/VS Communicator 4. I assume you have used a switch that you have been able to operate with your hand, foot or so?

hej Lars! mytobi slows down when i am on facebook or mbl.is in the the mytobii software and the mouse moves very slowly. and i have to have many programs for my work so 80GB hard is not enough for me and my company. what can i do? i used morse code with my old wheelchair for years before i got the new one! i really like it because it gives me freedom to write faster ! it is a system of sounds that means letters like ABCDEFGH . i hope you understand. Hi Asdis,
I don't think that you will find quicker ways to access IT infrastructure than the MyTobii. The Eyetracking in the MyTobii is the most reliable and forgiving around, and that counts when you want to gather speed instead of having to focus on how to hit the buttons right.

But of course the MyTobii is not designed to be a high-performance computer, it is a highly specialized communication aid in first place. If you want to run many programs at once and use bigger harddrive, faster CPU, good graphics adapter etc., all the communication aids on the market won't make you happy. Check the computing power of the Dynavox stuff and you'll quickly see that it is not what you need.
Instead you should divide access from computing. You can use the P10 as a remote control for a regular (and high performing) computer. This is done via a network connection between the P10 and the computer, it is easy to setup and runs smoothly. That way the P10 has all capacity available for creating fast access, and the other computer can run whatever you want without slowing down the mouse speed etc.
Send a mail at support(at)tobii.com, they will tell you how to set this up.

The morse code is an interesting consideration beside, yet I don't really see how that system of long and short "clicks" would relate with eyecontrol well. What I can recommend as the fastest input method I ever tried with eyecontrol is the way Dasher does it. It is pretty confusing in the beginning and if you don't fully understand what you are doing it will overwhelm you with colors and motion (sounds like a drug trip now, but it is not that bad :-)), but once you have mastered it you will be faster than the speed of light!
Other highspeed input method I know is a software that a German woman here on the forum uses. look out for the posts of Kathrin and send her a private message to get to know more.

I think that many users are interested in ways to speed up there communication, so please keep posting about your findings!
Cheers,
Uli
