Help! I am supporting an individual with MD who just received a My tobii. While he will eventually need the communication piece of the device, he currently needs to use it for worksheets, word processing etc.. He has VS communicator. How can we do that with this device?
Thank you!
good question!
Hello,
You have a couple of options for Word Processing using VS Communicator: utilizing one of the on-screen keyboards or using the Text Files page set (under Ready-Made Page Sets/Misc).
Kind regards,

Sorry
I hit send without finishing
It is probabaly better to enlarge the keyboard to 50 rather than 75
Close out by hitting OK where needed.
Try using that keyboard to launch Word Pad or Notepad and typing into it.
However, the option I like best is to use the VS Communicator Text File Editer. It is easiest to use this rather than even launch wordpad, notepad or word. You may find it as follows:
Set up for a user as above
Check Miscellaneous
Text Files
You mau also change the size of the keybaord in this option.
Good luck

I see my first responsse never got to you. Here it is:
Inside VS Communicator you have many Keyboards. These can be used in a number of ways, including writing text to a word processing program such as Wordpad, Notepad, or if you installed it, Microsft Word. These keyboards can launch the word processing software, create new documents, edit, and save. A nice feature of VS Communicator is that you can enlarge any of the on-screen keyboards. I had originally suggested going anywhere from 50 to 75% (there is a settings box that lets you do this). But after playing with it myself, I see that 50% is best to start with. If you need bigger keys, then you can do that but you'll have to make the font size smaller to fit the key, because enlarging from 25% to greater than 50% makes the existing letters too big. There is a way to adjust the letter font and boldness so that it will fit bigger keys, but it entails more settings adjustments.
