I don't yet have a mytobii device but am seriously considering it. I currently have a Dynavox V-Max which has its share of problems. One of them is that the screen blacks out in the sunlight. How does mytobii's screen in the sun?
same thing happens. direct sunlight doesn`t go down very well with its screen.

Thanks! Like I said, I am trying to decide if I should start with something new or stick with what I have.

at the end of the day it is up to you what model you choose Erin but i would suggest the P10.
i took a look at the specs of the dynavox v and vmax machines and compared them to the P10. I must say the vmax looks quite impressive but the P10 is still more powerful. I do miss a few built-in devices from the P10 (wlan, bluetooth) but these all can be added via a usb device. you will need a usb hub for that though but still... it is good enough. both the vmax and the P10 come with XP PRO; the P10 has far more memory and a bigger HDD plus screen. i have the Grid 2 installed on my system with which i can do just about everything (word prediction, symbol chat, typeing, built-in workspaces, etc..). And the tobii software has chat, email, word processor, etc. as well. the P10 also comes with infrared and the greatest thing is that it is eye controlled.

Thanks again! I tried to research just mytobii and I didn't find much. Maybe if I had a specific model I would find more. From all you are telling me its very tempting. The sales rep is away now but when she gets back I will have a trial.

As with any laptop screen the P10 does not do well in sunlight... possibly an anti-glare film like they put on ATM machines would be useful!

Two more, are things like the CD-rom drive included in the purchase price? I thought they were but wasn't sure. Finally, $17,000 is a substantial amount of money. If you were to do it again would you choose a tobii?
Thanks!

As far as I know, the P10 doesn`t come with a DVD drive, so need to purchase a USB external DVD-RW. Any makes are compatible as long as they have USB connection.
I know that the P10 cost a substantial amount of money but my answer is a definite yes, I would buy it again.

I thought the expression I used means to stay strong, good times are ahead. And I referred to her not having to wait long for the tobii.
